When you enter a race via SI entries, you will be given the option to add some money for charity.
The two charities that we support are:
Cleveland Mountain Rescue Team
“We operate in the northern side of the North York Moors, but operate in other areas when requested to do so by neighbouring teams and other agencies. Dealing with over 40 incidents per year, we are a self-funding dedicated team of ‘professional volunteers’ coming from all walks of life, united in their love of the outdoors and their wish to help their fellow outdoor enthusiasts in trouble.”
Scarborough and Ryedale Mountain Rescue Team
“The Scarborough & Ryedale Mountain Rescue Team is a totally voluntary organisation. It exists to help save lives and assist injured and distressed people in the area of the North York Moors National Park. The Team is run on a purely voluntary basis, members receive no payment or expenses for their services. It costs in the order of £40,000 per year for us to maintain the service we provide.”
Hopefully none of our competitors will ever require the service of the teams but it’s good to know that they are there.
In 2015 Hardmoors competitors donated £750 to each of the Mountain Rescue Teams
In 2016 we gave £1250 to each of the Mountain Rescue Teams. Thanks everyone.
